Points
Points
Managers in FPL earn points from their players for a number of actions.
These include goals, assists, clean sheets and saves. They can also earn additional bonus points if they among the top-performing players in the Bonus Points System in any given match.
Clean sheets
If a player has been substituted before a goal is conceded, this will not affect any clean sheet points provided they have played 60 minutes.
Assists
The scoring team's player who makes the final pass before a goal is scored receives an assist.
Whether the pass was deliberate (creating the opportunity) or unintentional, an assist is given (that the player had to dribble the ball or an inadvertent touch or shot created the chance).
No assist is awarded if an opposing player touches the ball after the last pass but before a goal is scored, materially affecting the intended destination of the ball.
If an opponent's touch is followed by a defensive error by another opponent's outfield player, no assist will be given. If the goalscorer loses possession and then regains it, no assist is given.
Rebounds
If a shot on goal is blocked by an opposition player, is saved by a goalkeeper or hits the woodwork, and a goal is scored from the rebound, then an assist is awarded.
Own Goals
If a player shoots or passes the ball and forces an opposing player to put the ball in his own net, then an assist is awarded.
Penalties and free-kicks
In the event of a penalty or a free-kick, the player earning the penalty or free-kick is awarded an assist if a goal is directly scored, but not if he takes it himself, in which case no assist is given.
Bonus Points
The Bonus Points System (BPS) assigns a score to each player based on a variety of statistics.
Bonus points will be awarded to the top three players in each match. The player with the highest score will receive three points, the second will receive two, and the third will receive one.
The following are some examples of how bonus point ties will be resolved:
If there is a tie for first place, Players 1 and 2 will each earn three points, while Player 3 will receive one.
If a tie for second place occurs, Player 1 will earn 3 points, while Players 2 and 3 will each receive 2 points.
If there is a tie for third place, Player 1 will receive 3 points, Player 2 will receive 2 points and Players 3 & 4 will receive 1 point each.
